Reopening Your Small Business – Guide To A Fresh Start

How is the reopening going for your small business during these tough times?

Just as it is for many businesses, it will be hard to pick up where you left when you start, but you can be fully prepared and give your best to be back in the game.

For a start, the best thing is to make an honest evaluation of what is feasible for your business given your resources.

For instance, make a plan of how you will allocate your budget, how you will adapt your workplace to the state safety regulations, and most importantly how you will pivot your products and offerings to the changing customer needs and demands.

After assessing your situation and coming up with new strategies, don’t forget to give your customers transparency about the precautions you will take to reduce the risk of Covid-19.

Show your customers with facts that your primary concern is the health and safety of them and your employees. Start with general hygiene practices that you will employ and CDCs guidelines you will enforce. Develop a plan on employee health monitoring and specific steps to manage it.

Then give information about social distancing, for example, are you going to install physical barriers or close communal spaces? Will there be alternating teams of employees based on shifts? How many people will be allowed at once and will there be social distancing signs on floors?

Also, have a plan on personal protective equipment for your employees and customers. Are they obliged to wear face coverings and gloves?

With such a transparent communication about your approach on reopening, you will set clear expectations with your customers and be a reliable long term partner.

Good good luck to you all and most importantly stay safe!!
